Impact driver is a game changer. I've just used mine for the first time whilst doing over 30m of fencing - I can't figure out how I lived without one now.
I'm in the very early stages of planning a deck. Did you use an online planner to figure out what you needed? Also interested to hear what you bought and where from?

I went with Wickes in the end, even though there were some recommendations against it. But when I priced up what I wanted, they were significantly cheaper due a 3 for 2 deal on the deck boards. Also, they'll deliver the whole lot on a Friday for £30.
I really just mapped out the area I wanted to deck, which happened to be 3.5m across. So I worked out how many 3.6m deck boards I would need and rounded up a bit for fuck ups and edging.
I then tried to plan out a joist frame based on supporting the boards every 50cm. Added a few extra joists in for good measure and again a few spares.
The ground is uneven so will need to fuck about a bit with supports. Also ordered some paving blocks to go under the supports instead of resting them directly on the ground. Will also try to cut a square of damp proof course to go between the support and the block.
Will top it off with far too many screws (hence the impact driver alongside the drill to save swapping the driver and pilot drill bit) and a coat of Ronseal Decking Protector, hidden in the Wickes order, even though the timber is pressure treated.
If it's good, it should be over engineered enough to get a good few years out of it. If it's shit, then going the cheaper route will make me feel less bad about throwing money at any potential fix.

Just dropped far too much money on probably the wrong size/quantity/type of timber for my deck. At least I get some new toys out of it. Found a cordless impact driver and cordless saw that both take the same batteries as the drill my dad bought me for my 30th.
