I unwittingly logged in as user74323 - here I am in my real persona. Yes, the fork is an exotic MTB fork I picked up off ebay - It was the cheapest fork I found with 1 inch steer and disc brake mounts. It's much longer than the original and hence the rake is increased and the steering made slower. With a long stem and straight bars it was absolutely terrible at slow speed. The swept back handlebars quickened up the steering and I'm surprised how nice it is to ride. Ultimately high speed stability was the priority. I am a bit worried that a carbon fork can fail suddenly and catastrophically - are these forks any good?
Also I will see how the leather satchel will hold up the test of time. If I could find something frame mount that would look good on a vintage road bike then I'll do it. I thought of ortlied dry bags, also the Specialized Burra Burra is on the radar.
This is my first ever ebike build, in fact first ever bike build, and third time ever on an ebike. My daily ride is a specialized langster steel with porteur handle bars. Nothing special, but dependable.
