No, I know that some people think it's really funny to hit the sprayers when they overtake riders because the water goes fucking everywhere at speeds > 15mph.

There's no rule that stops people driving through a pothole/puddle. There's certainly a line on the road that I'd prefer they didn't cross should I be heading the other way - sod anyone at a bus stop.
I've copped washer spray once or twice before in my life, I've never considered it intentional. I use my washers all the time because I hate dirty windscreens. I don't tend to use them when passing cyclists because I'm being very careful and normally on the other side of the road anyway but not everyone is as considerate as I am when it comes to riders.
