I enjoyed bashing about on a Synapse hire bike.

Mine gave me horrendous knee trouble and really I should probably have bought a different size.
I replaced it with a CAAD12 a few months ago

I hated the fact the Synapse haven't changed for 2017, but even with this in mind, it's still truly an excellent bike.
It's defintely one of those endurance type bike that felt more racey than it should be.

The one I had was a 56 with a 130mm stem, which was as low as it would go, I have to say I enjoyed the ride- heavy as sin mind but I expect that was the wheel set

^ that's my exact setup. Such a fun bike to ride
-
• #7782
That's lovely.

It is the wheelset, not just that, that wheelset tend to feel sluggish for some reason.
56cm felt like a 58cm!

will be those wheels. swear they are >2kg for the pair
-
• #7785
ye easily >2
also the stock seatpost is like +300 iirc
-
• #7786
Definitely 2kg, ironically more than the standard Askium.

Bashed the Caad12 around Belgium this weekend. It was just great, really enjoyed climbing the bergs on it and ragging it around the countryside. Probably got a few more minor adjustments before it's perf, but it's a total dream.

Did anyone mistake you for Sagan again?

So many people at Kwaremont were shouting 'Peter' at me... This guy wanted a selfie

2017 Trigger finally hits the shops.
Looks kinda boring. The shock is dual travel though, like Fox doing U-Turn / Dual Position.
More interesting is that it looks like they've canned the Lefty Max, which is a real shame if true.

Readers wife:
Will probably change DA to Red, as I can't quite get used to the Shimano hoods.
-
• #7793
I didn't get on well with Shimano hood until I realised that it felt better with compact drop where the flat section continued to the hood, as oppose to a ramp.
Campagnolo to me, felt better with classic drop as the transition felt much more organic from bar to hood.

Doing it right. That's a ripper.

so i managed to dent the steerer tube while cutting it - rubbed off against the edge of the plaster board i was holding it on [dumb dumb] - what do you guys think ? picture might make it look dramatic but it has very little depth - sub 0.5mm and is somewhere around the halfway of the headtube....
time for a new fork ? is it fine ?
in the same adventure a Ti bolt snapped on me - granted it was a harsh winter... non cannondale related - its a 3T Team stem - going back to the cannondale one or at least the steel bolts...

Its scrap I'm afraid.

From a better safe than sorry perspective. Your mileage may vary.

bummer :(

I'd ask a carbon repair person tbh, and even then you'll probably get a heavily qualified answer from them. If you don't think it's fine, don't ride it. Think it's fine? Ride it and don't worry about it.

I've ridden worse and lived.
Been riding it all winter, very impressed. Just took mudguards off and swapped from silver wheels this weekend, it's really transformed the look.
I got it as a fast winter trainer, so 25c is fine for me, just would be nice to have the option for slightly larger, especially given it's name.
