Btw I'm interested in buying any parts you're getting rid of from this! (Not the wheels tho ;)

Not sure how black rims would tie it together with it being mostly silver, but I have the same rims in black built into lf Phil's elsewhere... so if I ever change my mind.
I actually ordered silver bars and they sent me black, they're getting taped if I keep them so no dramas.

Black rims will undoubtedly look good, but I think this is a rare case where silver rims look even better.
How do those bars handle?

I vote stick with silver rims

Yeah I put one of the black rims in as a place holder and it looked good but the silver is nicer. Wanted to do something to my own taste, nothing new here but felt it wasn't really following any of the current fixed trends - just a classy bike that rides good is what i wanted and that's what I've got.
Bars are ace! Great shape.

Bike looks good man! Classy & understated. Maybe use some oven cleaner or something on the bars and you're golden.

Cobbled this together from the parts bin while I sort a seized bb. Finished the build after this pic (no finished pics yet) and took it for a spin and it was glorious - great to back on fixed. -

It will make the frame pop, now it's a bit subdued by the silver but yeah it's a classy whip for sure

Need to shorten some new SRAM brake hoses by about 6". Cutting board, stanley knife, and a steady hand the way to go? Youtube makes it look easy but I don't want to feck it up - I'd like to ride this to work on Monday.

If you don't want to fuck it up, take it to a shop with proper choppers.
Doing anything with a bread knife is a quick way to absolutely ruin it.

Stanley knife and cutting board worked fine for me on both occasions that I've fitted hydro discs.

New chainring, cog and chain. Also ditched the tensioner and achieved magic gear with a halflink and removed the reflective striping from the tires.
indeed, I think it's from 2002 as that is the last 4 digits of the 6 digit serial number
