thanks, I'm using a Virgin Media Superhub (Netgear VMDG480). Should I get that replaced?

Looks like that is previous generation wireless N rather than AC. Probably a good idea to consider replacing that first. I don't actually know about ISP provided routers, do you have to pay for upgrade to a newer one?

just got off the phone with them, they're sending out a new one...will wait and see!
