I realised the other option is the Campagnolo Shamal Ultra Dark Label, which cost similar to the Ksyrium Pro Exalith, might be a much better wheelset.

The Exalith does offer greater reassuring braking, but not at the trade off of a narrower rim. Wait for the new Open Pro's.

Vittoria make a wheel with an exalith type coating and wider rim (coating done in same factory as mavic apparently) bit cheaper than mavic

also the new dt swiss oxic dicut
