My back pain finally got bad enough for me to pay to see a physio, the one I work with, I think I mentioned this previously...
He diagnosed a bulging disc, reckons it's hitting the sciatic nerve as my pain is now focused around the buttock area.
Pointed a lot of stuff out to me during my first appointment with him like my total non symetricallity when I feel like I'm standing straight, a lot of tightness in lower back muscles etc etc.
He gave me an (another) exercise program to get on with, didn't feel like much to start with but he went over it with me today and makes a bit more sense/difference now.
I have sway back posture (as do most cyclists) and exercises he has given me aim to correct this, fees pretty good now I know how to do them properly!
I can almost concentrate and rotate my pelvis to relieve pressure on spine when I feel pain coming on.
Did his exercises yesterday but a bit incorrectly, and had to take anti-inflammatories and co-cocdamol and still struggled to walk a couple km, did them properly today and haven't needed any medication (though I have dosed pretty heavily on alchohol this afternoon!)
This is what I had (there's a sciatica thread on here somewhere) but it took a while to diagnose. The MRI made it very clear though. Towards the bottom you can see the disc sticking out into the nerve
I'm pretty sure I have something very like this, my pain gets worse if I rotate my pelvis forward and better when I rotate it back probably due to the disc getting squeezed and bulging more when I rotate forward.
