Anyone ever attached anything cages to the stays/legs of a wald?
-
• #14982
Good idea, do the holes line up?
-
• #14983
Absolutely no idea...

I found the Wald legs to be really flexible, wouldn't recommend adding the weight of the anything cages + gear. Loaded front end should be as stiff as possible to get the least annoying steering behaviour. Could be worth trying it out though

I was more thinking of just softgoods, jacket, sleeping bag, pad etc

Cages might even work as reinforcement and make it stiffer :)

New or Old? Old were one piece; The new are two (so you can adjust the length), so the halves overlap and are much stiffer.

Two piece, still a long way from fork dropouts to the basket though

the legs on my big wald basket are unbelievably flimsy, even with the two piece design. would strongly caution against putting anything down there given that if it falls it's going in your front wheel...

Tempted by this to slip in amongst a silver Campagnolo groupset on a tourer:
...with the X-0 logo removed, I think it could look alright.
However as much as a I read about 9-speed SRAM it just appears to be completely incompatible with anything else unlike with their 10 speed which people have had some measure of success with when running amongst other brands parts.
Would love any links that say otherwise, but I'm stumped.

First result of a google search sounds hopeful:
I put Centaur Ergopower levers on my SRAM Red-equipped bike and have been riding it happily ever since with nary a hiccup in the shifting. I have a SRAM 10-speed chain, SRAM Red chainrings, SRAM Red front derailleur, SRAM Red rear derailleur, and SRAM Red 10-speed cogset mated with the Centaur 10-speed Ergopower levers.
