  • Last time one of these specific frames where up for sale seller mentioned the DT was part of a metal window frame or something not bike tubing

  • Yeah, that was me and I mentioned a windowsill, purely for the lolz

  • Is it just me or does it look like there's a fold in the downtube in the first picture?

  • I'm sure it's been mentioned before but I can't seem to find it. How much is a set of 1" threadless forks likely to cost from Rychtarksi? Any other builders I should look at?

  • Think orlowski was around £140 posted. Would imagine similar for rychtarski.

  • oops double post

  • Damn you. Was trying too get similar agreement.

  • @bankiren got 1" fork w/ disc tab for £100 from Rychtarski IIRC

  • Blimey, that's not bad!

  • Ordered new fork just last week, asked both rych and orlowski just because i was curious.

    Rych 120€ + postage
    Orlo 130€ + postage

(dunno if any options or different tubing add to price, mine is pretty basic 1 1/8" with canti and fender mounts)

    e: and made from cromor

  • I got a quote from Orlowski for €138 shipped for a fork made from Taiwan cromo or €168 shipped for Columbus Max. I've never ridden Max but isn't it meant to be a very harsh ride?

  • Not sure about the ride but they sure do look awesome

  • You're not wrong! I sent this forum banger as a reference for the sort of shape I'm after. Orlowski said they could make the same shape in Max or Cromo

  • I've never ridden Max but isn't it meant to be a very harsh ride?

It doesn't seem particularly harsh to me. Tyres and pressure also make a difference.

  • I've never ridden Max but isn't it meant to be a very harsh ride?

Though I have never ridden on one, would imagine the wider diameter would make it a bit stiffer. And if they were straight forks (if that was being discussed), unlike yours, it is reasonable too that, that has a significant affect. Though, I'm no engineer yet.

  • my old rychtarski is full max and wasnt harsh to ride. Its steel with relatively small tubes (compared to some alu monsters) anyways

  • HHSB>>>

  • This is amazing! Someone build somewhat similar Orlowski recently i think?

  • I think max makes for a pretty good fixie tubeset. The toptube is just rly thin in the middle so be careful.

  • Looking to shift my Rychtarski SSCX frame and fork if anyone's interested.

Columbus Max frame, geometry based on the 57cm Ritchey Swiss Cross.

It's been sent back to Poland for a repair after cracking at the seat-clamp, so the frame has a brand new paintjob. Changes have been made to ensure it shouldn't happen again, but I've been using carbon paste and as little torque on the seatpost as possible to be sure.

Fork uses a Pacenti Paris-Brest crown and needs a respray (or you could just ride it with the hammerite paintjob it currently has). Fork has been slightly amateurly drilled to take a fork-mounted hanger, but you can't see this once the hanger is fitted.

Masses of clearance on the front and rear for either big tyres (I've had 1.95" tyres in there) or loads of room for mud come the cross season.

Happy to throw in some parts too, I've got a good condition 120mm Thomson stem, seatclamp and seatpost I will include, as well as a all black Chris King headset. If you want the Ultegra BB I can include that too.

Looking for £500 for headset, stem, seatpost, clamp, frame and fork. Collection in N16.

  • Unrelated I know, but are those cook Bros. cranks in the last shot?

  • Tune Bigfoot, though the spider cracked on them after a fairly long hard life for 90's exotica. I think @Hulsroy has bought them back from death.

  • Ohh I know the ones, I dont think he has yet.
