Really? I saw another dude say someone had seen him at the top of the climb about 5 hours ago.

"Hoping Kristof is OK this morning. Having welcomed him to the area earlier in the night, I was up late working whilst dot watching. Seeing his dot stationery on the back of Falls climb I thought I would go for a drive to check that he wasn't freezing to death. At 2:30am I came across a bike parked by the side of the road, with a person covered in tent material lying on the road asleep, basically where his dot had stopped. Of course I didn't want to disturb him and marveled at his ability to sleep anywhere but am a little concerned having woken up and found his dot hasn't moved. It was a cold night last night and he was sleeping on the road itself. There is basically no traffic out there and he was on a part of the steep climb where there is nowhere to get off the road."

Hope he's OK and warm enough. It looks as if Mike Hall will soon reach that position, so may be able to check on him.

This is the first time I partake in 'dot watching'. I just had a realisation of how many people must be looking at Kristof's red dot at this time simultaneously, it's very compelling. And tense. There's people commenting on the Facebook post as mentioned above, and the tone is quite universal. Don't want to go to sleep before seeing his dot moving again.

Last update on Mike's dot was more than 30min ago. On that time he must have ridden just under 10km. It might be single digit now, if Kristof is still waking up.

Oh well, according to the tracker Mike just overtook Kristof (whose dot is still greyed out). Mike went straight through without slowing down, which I makes me think Kristof is not actually there?* Probably further up the road but his tracker didn't sync yet?

*dunno how these things work. Would he stop to say hi?

Kristof now showing as ahead again, but Mike's tracker last updated at 11.47pm and Kristof's at 3.18pm...

I felt real emotions there when that blue dot blew past the red one! I feel weird now

Mike's dot definitely was ahead when I looked a minute ago, but it's back behind Kristof now...

I'm unclicking that Predicted Mode thing. Don't like being played with like that.

Do the riders switch the tracker off when they stop? Or would it keep broadcasting position regularly even when they're sleeping?

The riders are not allowed to help each other, so Mike can't wake Kristof if he's there sleeping.

But maybe Kristof is just stealth/forgot to put the tracker back on.

It's up to the rider, some leave it on, some switch it off. Kristof usually switches it off.
