  • This is one of Luddlet #2's random purchases, and he now wants to convert it into cash if he can. Is anyone interested in playing around with one of these lovely 1960s machines? £25 would secure it. It's in SE23 but I might be able to deliver within a reasonable distance.

It has its original instruction booklet, from Grundig UK, Newlands Park, London SE26. I see one of the booklets sold on ebay for £12.50 recently!

  • getting home with my reel to reel
    There's no comprehending
Just how close to the bone and the skin and the eyes
And the lips you can get
    And still feel so alone

    beautiful. free bump for you

  • Good ole Joni....

  • Will listen to offers before taking this elsewhere.

  • Did no take this elsewhere after all. It's still cluttering up the house, and if anyone wants to give me a £15 for it, I'd be happy.

It has its lid and everything, but Madame Ludd managed to snap off one of the little plastic bits that clicks it shut.

  • Does it work?

  • Yes, it does indeed work. Luddlet #2 has used it, I think, to transfer some historic recordings of Mrs Ludd's early years onto a digital storage format that will not last as long as the tape. His only complaint with the machine was the absence of a modern line-out.

  • No line out? any chance could you photograph all the input and outputs? Or describe them :D Cheers

  • They go in and come out on a DIN socket

  • Sorry, I've not had time to come back with photos. Should be able to do that tonight, and will also test it again and remove the tape that's on it now and replace it with something else.

  • I want it! I want it!

  • Just read thing about ins/outs. Ah, fsck it. it's cheeps and i'm in SE23 too. I might as well have a play with it. Can always pass it on again. I'll PM you this evening. Cheers.

  • Here's the back end of the machine showing the socket for extension speakers, for input and for output.

There's a socket on the top for a microphone, and in fact there's also an original Grundig GDM311 microphone that I'd include for a little more, in its original case.

  • OK, any last minute offers for this? Or does it go to the tip?

  • One last chance! This is free to anyone who can collect from SE23 before we move out to the sticks.

  • When do you move out to the sticks? I'm in SE22, just wondering of the time frame

  • We've found a buyer but have not found anywhere to move to, so no great rush. Having said that, the sooner the better as we have loads more crud to clear out after 21 years in the area.

  • I'm around today - would you like me to drop the machine round with you this afternoon?

  • Am I allowed to bump this without a price reduction, given that it is free? Hoping to clear this out soon, as we may be moving house soon.

  • Hi, I can give your ole reel 2 reel a home. Can collect evenings.

  • and play some Dylan @Mightyquin

  • Please do, @Mightyquin

I am around now, and will be tomorrow and Thursday evenings.

  • Kewl! I can collect tomorrow evening, say about 8pm?

I've got a few reel tapes that were my Dad's and I'm curious to find out what's on them.

  • 8pm should be good this evening. PM to follow with directions.

  • Haven't noticed this in the last couple years! But if you're still left with it after tonight, Tom at Cycle PS does reel to reel...
