I've got (almost) exactly that Seamaster in gold, for sale for £300.

Gold filled that is.
Late 1960s by my reckoning.

That's not an unheard of rate, i too am in the wrong work. I thought the community site he was on about loved watches. Period. No sniffiness. Also thought there was some humour in the article about having to take the average from 3 watches to get the time. Whereas a quartz would have been 100% Accurate.
Felt you could replace watches with bikes.

True, n+1 seems to apply to both!
-

Is it water proof still?
-
• #21907
I would be amazed if it ever was decently waterproof. Wouldn't want to risk it...
In addition to that Omega I'm also selling one of these:
Having a bit of a clear out of watches that I just don't wear.

Dorrar?

It is this model. For those who don't know, the orange lume still glows green.
They're $750 at the moment. Call that close to £700 including import tax. This one has only been worn a dozen times. £500 sound reasonable?

Let me do some pondering for a couple of days and get back to you.

Order is all sorted on the Grand Seiko now. Guaranteed stock etc.
Unfortunately there's still no ETA on actual arrival in the UK. Potentially May; maybe later....
Boo.

• #21912
ETA? Thought it was a Seiko? :oP
-
• #21913
Yeah, I asked them to stick a quartz movement in for reliability. Also, super easy to get the battery changed down the marker for under £20.

If you ever get one that's not gold that you'd like to pass on please let me know, Ive been wanting a 60's one for ages
-
• #21915
Hows it keeping time?
Have you taken out all the original bits and replaced them? :P
-
• #21916
Its not in bad shape according to the timegrapher butI haven't done anything to this one.
If it ain't broke...
Or as any budding watch repairer will testify: if it ain't broke, break it.

Pretty mental. The radium looks like it's in perfect condition, which is crazy. I like the fact it's hand-wound...

Don't know if you ordered from WatchGecko but I just had something through and you'll get 10% off using the code 'Postcard'.

Tread carefully, there are a phenomenal number of fake 60's Omega Seamaster 300s out there that came from India I think. Many others have been badly replated or have horrible condition movements. I sold one last year for £250 (black/silver), price differentials between good and bad condition is 3x

Thanks, I didn't know that. I was hoping one would come up on here as I could see it first.
-
• #21922
its not a seamaster 300 , but I have a 1969 Omega constellation auto stainless steel ( I believe ref is 168.010) with original papers and I think I have its original box. All restored by STS , case and glass like new . perfect in every way . chronometer rated movement . hardly used since refurb .
i may let that go . can post pics when i get home . -

You ned to state a price range when you make these posts so one can get the heart rate down again.

• #21924

I really really like the Tudors, especially the black bay, but I can't seem to find any for less that £1500 :/ I don't know if you know anywhere that has them cheaper?
Thanks
