Space horse disc looks like a decent UK alternative to the wolverine no? given the wolverine costs a bomb over here

Someone is desperately trying to make short wheelbase thing, huh?

Yup, have usually gone for Berthouds in appropriate size but just wondered if this is perhaps unnecessary. Agree re sks longboards, they look alright in black on a modernish build but Berthouds and the like can't be beat for that shiny silverness.

Who would be the UK frame builders to approach for something like this?
Any suggestions? -

Mather?
Swallow also do some nice work.

Ellis Briggs
Mercian
Bob JacksonAny of the old schoolers could do something like that couldn't they?
Minus MAP's obsessive detailing and astounding prices. -

I'd look at Hallett, their touring/650b stuff seems to be a strong focus. Chatted to the guy at Bespoked a few years ago when they won touring bike of the year.

Guess it depends partly on aesthetics and price.
Price is why I recommend some of the older builders, for instance if one doesn't require fancy spec Bob Jackson keeps a variety on hand in the £500 range. -

Saffron, with a bi-lam head tube.

Isn't that essentially just a copy of a mid to late 20th century steel touring frame? There are hundreds around surely. Get a 27 1/4" wheel model and run fatter 700s.
I'm guessing this one is 650 or some other fashionable shit though. If needs be buy a ratty one, pay to have the canti bosses moved and respray.

@jontea @withered_preacher @Fforiwr
Thanks for the reccomendations.
Funnily enough I have a Mercian and a Bob jackson. Both nice bikes in their own right, I'll be selling the Bob to help fund this new bike if it goes ahead.
I guess what I'm after is a builder that already has some experience with this type of bike.
I spoke to Hallett in depth about that bike at Bespoked a couple of years ago. I'd forgotten about it until now so thanks for the reminder.
And yeah not MAP prices £££££

Not necessary, just ask them to build you a low trial touring/audax bike.

Yes Ed!
I'm looking forward to your new build. That fork is really nice. I had a nose at some photos on their Facebook page.
Something like your Oak is pretty much what I'm after.
How comes you went for Cycles in Motion for the new bike? -

I've been reading too much Bicycle Quarterly.

Close to finishing my CDF 650 conversion. Just need a cassette.
Going to stick with the 700c guards, please don't hate me.

I wonder when PDW are going to catch up and start doing a 650b size.
