  • Can it be saved?

It looks like one inner wing, both wings, front panel and suspension leg and should be good to go.

  • don't buy a used car from lynx

  • Definitely beyond insurance economic repair, but looking again I thing that you should check the turret. Want me to pop over and give you £20 scrap ;)

  • Seeing as I replaced the inner wings on a ford cortina, complete 3 piece sills on a pair of MX5's it isn't hard to do. Removing the spot welds and making sure everything stays straight is the biggest issue.

  • Has anyone strapped a Bike Box Alan or similar to roof bars?

Any advise welcome, like "don't do it"

    #csb etc etc

  • A few of us are gonna be gonna be going to Lithuania this summer to buy a couple of these and drive them back, anyone is welcome to join if they like.

  • Of the sixteen door seals specific to the 850 only one is now available. This is annoying.

  • Are you only looking for new stuff?

  • Anything that works, given that there is no new stuff in the global Volvo supply chain it'd be incredible luck to find all the seals I need, NOS, in a random garage somewhere.

I'd most like drivers side window seals as they're the most aged, and therefore the most noisy - this is all about trying to reduce wind-noise caused by old, stiff seals.

If you have a source for second user, but still pliable and non-fucked I'd be interested?

  • Lack of seals is also preventing a full re-spray, as mentioned a little further back in the thread.

  • They're the hard, external seals that seal against the window - not conditionable I thought?

  • Which ones are you talking about? The ones in the door frame or the waterproof window trim.

  • All of them.

  • I still have a paper licence :)
    passed 81 ;)

  • Think 317 is the one you need

http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-166-weatherstrip.aspx but the trim on the window is longer so I thing you will probably need to cut and join the old and new weather strips.

  • I just made a quick search of German eBay and some Swedish and Danish sites. There is some stuff available, even a few NOS bits.

  • Interesting, thanks.

  • Have you checked pelican parts in the US?

  • I thought they were VW/Porsche?

  • I have a hankering for an esprit. They look to be good value at the moment. Am I mad?

  • Lots of volvo bits, have not searched for specific seals but the have a whole category for the 850... Worth a browse. Otherwise I wonder if any volvo places daaarn unda have any.
This is relevant to me as the 850 t5r I found may be a project soon...

  • And in your climate the seals will be further along the path to carbon than mine are. One problem is that a lot of vendors simply log into the Volvo database and will return a positive result (as the item is real) but won't know the stock quantity (zero) until you order with them and they order with Volvo. I'll try Pelican.

  • Twin turbo?
