• SOLD SOLD

    Hi all,

I have a used upper beater Reynolds 531 frameset going spare.
I picked it up in France from its original owner, who also happens to be called Vincent.

He purchased it brand new in 1993 in Reims - fell in love with this 'nearly' top of the range in a bike show and was sold on those brifters he saw on the Tour de France bikes that year. The bike was used regularly until 2001, at which point it was dry stored in his garage.

I liked the story and the bike is my size so I bought it without looking into it too much, however it need more attention than I am willing to give it so here we are.

It is a 1993 Peugeot Professionnel which is made of Reynolds 531 Competition tubing - including forks. Size is 56cm square so good for someone around the 5ft10 mark.

Included in the sale is the black ITM stem, Modolo drop bars, unbranded 27.2mm aero seatpost, Selle Italia Turbomatic saddle.

Both seatpost and stem move freely. The bottom bracket thread are BSA.

Now it needs a bit of love/work as the lower cup of the headset is cracked and there is surface rust on the bottom part of the headtube and forks bridge (pictured) which will need to be treated.

That's pretty much it - a good project for a Peugeot lover! Quality Reynolds 531 Competition frameset.

    I am after £90 -> SOLD FOR £80

    Pick up from Stoke Newington!

  • Great bike but the strangest looking damage I have ever seen on that head tube. Has something corrosive been spilt on it? Is it straight?

  • It is just paint flaking with surface rust underneath as opposed to chunks of metal flaking.
There is a black electrical over it to avoid further cable rub.

The lugs used by Peugeot at the time look like the Holdsworth ones.

  • Here is a close up, hopefully you can see better

  • And a photo taken during daylight.
    Colour is deep purple

  • Nice, do you deliver?

  • I can drop it off if you are in London or pack & post it if you are further afield.

    Or if you order Champagne

  • Happy to split if you need bits

  • Most of the Shimano 600 bits have been sold, the frameset is now available.

Get some Reynolds 531 Competition goodness in your life for £80!

  • For those who have asked about the cracked lower headset cup and a close up of the surface rust on the head tube.

    Photo attached!

Nothing lethal, just a lick of Rustoleum or Aquasteel and you're back in the game

  • Still Available? If yes, how much to send to Ireland?

  • Postage to Ireland will be £20.

Also happy to chuck in this MBK Mirage Pro frame (51cm ST 53cm TT, both taken ctc) with a stuck seatpost in for free.

Powdercoated royal blue by BLB at some stage.
Columbus Acciaio Aelle frame with rare ellipse tubing.
The tubes are ellipse shaped - it looks awesome and has to be seen in the flesh, the seatpost (26.4mm) is tightened via the top tube which even has a groove to hide the rear brake cable.

I did a similar one up a while back

  • I have located a replacement headset that I can include in the sale...

  • Potential dibs on the Peugeot if you are willing to post to Bournemouth?

  • I have some local interest from @Zebra_Cyclist who is coming to see the lot this afternoon so if he doesn't take it, I will happily post

  • Thanks dude, just keep me posted

  • If whoever takes it doesn't want the MBK I'd be happy to take it off your hands!

  • I got more emails about the MBK than the actual Peugeot.

The seatpost is stuck - if it was an easy job to remove it, I would have done it...

  • SOLD SOLD SOLD
