Other than pretty colours - what are Hope calipers like? Since I have such niggles with the Shimano ones maybe worth considering? Any lighter? Are the pads any better?

dual piston ! apart from that Hope (or anything other than Shimano) is pain to maintain. Pads are just pads.

@fredtc link me to these massively reduced sram rim brake thingies pls.

What difference does dual piston make to maintenance? More places for air to get trapped?
