Buyer in oz contacts me after winning an item asking if they can get something else sent to me before i post to save on shipping. I'm reluctant but fair enough request, only if the other seller contacts me directly, gives a tracking number and uses my choice of carrier.
Don't hear anything for a couple of weeks despite sending the buyer numerous messages asking whats going on.
Sent them a message on monday saying i'd cancel/refund on friday due to lack of communication and not wanting them to end up receiving less than expected. no response.
as soon as i refunded this morning they contact me to ask why and why i'd not sent the item and that they didn't win the other item(they could have told me that 2 weeks ago) and they still want my item. obviously i'm not going to send it now i've sent a refund.
i have refunded them already, which i cant cancel but they're claiming not to have received a refund(this can take 1-30 days depening on their payment source). i have contacted paypal to confirm if they have/when they will receive the refund or if they can cancel it so I can keep the money and send the item.
The whole thing feels dodgy to me, have logged and screen shotted everything. Any other advice? The buyer trades in bike parts it would seem but has received neg rep in the last 12 months
Personally, I'd fire off a polite message (through the eBay messaging system) explaining the facts, stating the paypal transaction reference for the refund. Then I'd ignore all future correspondence and only respond to Paypal if the other party opens a dispute.
