  • Thanks! Yeah, so far the clearcoat seems to mark quite easily, but no sign of it flaking or peeling off. Hopefully should hold up nicely with the odd bit of reapplication

  • Really nice, yeah. What paint did you use? Was there a thread I missed?

  • Not as such, tacked it onto this thread here

    https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/297278/?offset=100

    Full Dip liquid vinyl aerosols

  • You built this yet?

  • Finished another built some days ago. Veloce on a Diamant frame, which I gave a DIY paintjob. Happy days!

  • @Vince mine had the Easton decal under the clearcoat too. That's how these frames came from China. ;-)

  • I like that a lot! Do you have a better photo from the side?

  • just got these compact cranks

    for this

...want to throw racks and gears on it and make it more suitable for touring.
...commuting doesn't really do it justice as the frame is crazy light ("custom super lite"!) and rides really nice.

  • First Chinese frame surely that'll be worth loads ;-)

I have all my blue & yellow projects back in London now...

  • Had a chance to look at the Peugeot ATB a bit more last night and was surprised to find the rear wheel actually has a freehub instead of a freewheel like I assumed. It had a 7sp cassette fitted (no spacers) with a lockring and the freehub body has threading on the end (to be compatible with older Uniglide cassettes?). The teeth are well worn - Am I going to have any issues fitting a new 7sp cassette like this?

  • Am I going to have any issues fitting a new 7sp cassette like this?

If you have a male threaded lock ring screwing into a female thread on the freehub rotor and one of the splines is narrower than the others, you have one of the transitional 7-speed hubs which had both male thread for UG and female thread for HG, and you can fit a modern 7-speed HG pattern cassette.

  • Thanks! Yeah, a male lockring - I'll check for the narrow spline later.

  • looks flexy round the BB but sexy paint

  • Design feature for added rear wheel traction. obvs

  • 700c conversion on shitty specialized. widbarz :) rack and better cranks coming soon

  • Did you get this on eBay recently?!

If so good buy, was a great price iirc. Lovely colour and 653 is noice!

  • yess, it was posted with a load of other nice old steel road frames by the same guy. Thought it was a good price for a 653 frame with cool paint.

Gonna build it up with black 5800 and parts bin stuff I think.

  • Beautiful frame! Deserves black group and black rims ...

Just getting my 653 Rourke ready for nicer weather .. new bars / stem en route.
