  • Also, don't police forces generally use hollow point bullets (so the bullet doesn't pass through and take out a civilian or two) which are a fair bit more likely to result in a fatal shot?

  • Not meant as a negative in any way.

    Just another mark against the idea that an officer being charged at by a knife wielding person should be able to simply incapacitate the attacker non-lethally.

    While the pros and cons of the bullets can be debated at length, it's understandable why they are chosen for that purpose.
