  • Hope we're just trotting Joey Shampoo out for the friendlies.

Butland and Forster are head and shoulders above him at this point...ugh, couldn't resist.

  • Stoke have got a good track record at recruiting goalkeepers. Lee Grant impressed me against Chelsea. Solid backup keeper.

Gordon Banks. One man team that beat us in the 1972 League Cup final.

  • If you look at Pulis's track record at signing players, he was excelllent at goalkeepers, and pretty good at centre halves (which he seemed to perfer to full backs) as you got further up the pitch, the worse he g0t. I can't think of a single poor goalkeeper signing, but plenty in the final third.

Starting with Mark Crossley who almost single handedly kept us up in the 2002/2003 season, and then followed by:
    De Goey
    Simonsen
    Sorrensen
Foster (Never played for Stoke, but very sound transfer deal non the less. Proving his worth now at WBA)
    Begovic
Butland (His last signing, but didn't play under him)

Hughes has done well with Grant, but he is a stop gap, and is having an excellent Indian Summer to his career.
