  • Just curious why you're looking for moonshine? Is it for mixing or did you just want to try this particular brand? The idea of paying a premium for moonshine seems crazy to me. All moonshine is basically the same, it burns and it gets you fucked up quickly. Premium moonshine might be more drinkable, but only because they've lowered the proof, as with Popcorn. The notion that it's small batch is amusing--it's made in a massive distillery, which is antithetical to moonshine.

    If you're interested in a similar American whisky that's clear and tastes like popcorn before smarting your esophagus, try this as its readily available in the UK and not that much more expensive than in US:

  • Cheers for the tip. A friend who spends a lot of time in LA mentioned that it was tasty and worth a crack.

    Thought it would be good to try as a sipping whiskey - from what I've read it's not horrible firewater. I haven't been a cocktail bartender for about 7 years now, but I'm sure I could find a use for the rest of the bottle if it's rank on its own.
