  • best gwent approach is use the deck with the 8x catapults which you can double to 16x with two of them and the second king card that doubles all ranged weapons. (nilfgardian?)

couple it with the mid-range cards where you lay up to 4 of the same kind and they get multiplied each time.

and finally use dandelion to boost your infantry lines.

use your spy cards early to build up a larger hand at the start of each round, if possible use your medic cards to grab spy cards from your discard pile if your opponent played them in the previous round.

play your non-destructive cards first and then slowly build up your lines being careful not to exceed the limit for the opponents scorch card (or just keep all your cards under the highest card on your opponents so they can only scorch themselves). save your multiplier cards until the end when the opponent is running super low on cards to limit the chance they can destroy them.

usually I tend to use my spy cards first to build a large hand while the opponent keeps using a lot of their cards, then I use enough low/mid-value non-destructive cards to get my score close to what the opponents have now built up and eventually they'll get to the point where they yield as they are low on cards then I play just enough to get my score higher than theirs.

round two I smash them with everything I have left.

usually end up with a score of about 150-175 for second round with all cards used.

edit: you can ignore all weather/clearance cards. use decoy cards if you want to be able to steal spies/scorch from the opponent.
