  • and rear valve angle

  • Excellent work. I've found the leader reaper forks for 60 quid, I'm kind of tempted to change it up

  • you need to clean your carpet

  • that room looks like this most of the time

  • thread dredge, loving these builds i want a big city bruiser

  • What happened to this?

  • Bought a few more bits for it then decided it really wasn't going to be pretty or actually useful for Leeds terrain and sold everything off.

I think it was ill fated from the moment I realised how restrictive mid bb was going to be/how much it was going to cost to get it "right".

  • Did you have a slim down of the collection when you moved then? I miss mine a bit but Mid BB was a total pain in the tits.

  • Nah i just decided it wasn't a project worth pursuing. I've moved twice, not really managed a slim down some are still in storage at my mums. Need to have a cull but really difficult because all my bikes are so damn good. #firstworldproblems

  • You've probably seen but I'm picking this up tomorrow which will cover all bruiser duties, but with a bit of a different slant.

  • Yes. What frame abd fork is thst looks alot of fun

  • Looking to build up a big city bruiser - taking inspiration from this

but i want to have sliding dropouts so i ss/fixie skid and have the option of getting geared up if i want to- not sure weather to do 26mtb frame and run 700c or do the 29er route.

what are the pros and cons of each - im going to be on a budget so the 26mtb may be my best.

  • Anyone know of a good source for cheap 22.2 flat/lowrise bars?

Building a first MTB for a 16 year old and I've got a toploader BMX stem I'd like to use (low stack suits the short steerer, green paint suits him).

Considered cheapish alloy motorbike bars. I'd need to cut them down, but they tend to have two bands of knurls and I'm concerned they might still bend with a single clamp. Would I be better off finding the lowest braced bars I can find where the brace clears the stem? Is it bad to run BMX stems upside down?

  • Depends on what you consider cheap..
    Fairdale do this

And I found it for a little less than 20 pounds at a Danish distributor.

  • Just bought this bike, much excitment

  • Do you have a link to the danish store? I want to get some shipped to sweden

  • Great thanks

DMR Wingbar can be found on offer quite often?

I've bent alloy 'fat' (28.6mm) bars by running them in a mtb stem and I only rode easy trails, I think 22.2mm ones would be even worse.

Is it bad to run BMX stems upside down?

Should be fine, unlikely all 4 bolts would go at once. Have done this on bmxs before.

  • Did you get a frame for this?
I have a Kona Humu (Disc) frame with sliding geared dropouts I'm looking to sell. PM me if you want some more pics. Ive had 26 and 700c fixed wheels on it, geared or SS.
