Anyone could join/claim Rollapalluza though.
-
• #903
True dat. Rollaz were an open club with a wide diverse membership, unlike the invitation only exclusivity of Grumpetto cc.
-
• #904
grupetto is diverse! they have a wide variety of snarky middle-age white guys
-
• #905
Ha ha. At least Grupetto call themselves a club, not a 'collective' or a team when they're not.
That Club FTR with their '2017 team roster'. lol.
Also, why are all the micro-ccs 'supported' by someone? Does this mean they aren't getting enough to call the supporter a sponsor?
Why is everyone so afraid of being a privateer anyway?

Doesn't earn enough instagram likes and the trappings that come with them, i.e. free product

(shakes head)
(puts on bad Italian accent)
There's a no self-respect
I think you're right about the likes though. I suspect this:
Frustrated with the traditional club model, we decided to forge our own path.
Basically means: We went on our local club run and there weren't enough gramming opportunities. Also everyone was wearing mismatched, ill fitting kit - it was an aesthetic horror show! We're freelance graphic designers, we shouldn't have to put up with this!
Is anyone actually getting that much free
productstuff though? Why does everyone talk like a drug dealer these days?
I suspect most of these people are easily bought and we're talking pretty small discounts.

Isn't it just a euph for "discounts on club kit bought from x"?
-
• #909
their helmets don't even match. fucking amateur hour. why is it only white people that do this sort of thing!?!?
-
• #910
^^^ also that
-
• #911
As I understand it. But that's the thing isn't it, if you say 'thanks to X for the discount on our team kit' it doesn't sound as pro. I suppose it's the natural extension of wanting to be a pro - form your own team so you can pretend to be in one.
If cycling is the new golf micro cc's are the new _______?
-
• #912
White men too right? Do these clubs take wimmins?
-

Depends on how many eyeballs you can get
-
• #914
This thread is constantly verging into glass house territory with zero self-reflection (except by the people who mentioned Grupetto).
Let people enjoy themselves. Mock the city boys who are trying to leverage their enjoyment of bikes to gain insider benefits from fringe markets.

and pass up an opportunity to have your skirt chased by Jack 'party hands' Fawdington? who could say no!?

I'll have to have a word with Ricky about what he's doing with all the free product I'm not getting.
-
• #922
RPR would've got you a free Bowman
-
• #923
That's basically a Planet X with better paint ya?
-
• #924
Rmnc.cc also leveraging dat gram into kit and bikefits and Juliet Elliot (formerly of this parish) made it all the way to GCN with the Assos connect.

FTR = For The Racing
Thus
FTR Race Club = For The Racing Race Club
Fake news. Rollapalluza.cc was first. Whatever happened to them?
