I think you're right about the likes though. I suspect this:
Frustrated with the traditional club model, we decided to forge our own path.
Basically means: We went on our local club run and there weren't enough gramming opportunities. Also everyone was wearing mismatched, ill fitting kit - it was an aesthetic horror show! We're freelance graphic designers, we shouldn't have to put up with this!

Also, why are all the micro-ccs 'supported' by someone? Does this mean they aren't getting enough to call the supporter a sponsor?
