Yeah coil pikes are rad - as long as they aren't fucked :)
Not sure how to set the pre-load on the coil tho - might need a new spring or tokens. @umop3pisdn had some, he might know.

I've worked out the seat post myself, it works just like my office chair.

That was a longgggg time ago. Mine had the PUSH damping upgrade, so so smooth. So so heavy. No idea about preload though I'm afraid.
