that sounds more in line with what i'd expect to pay tbh. he's doing a lot, has a list of recommendations as long as my arm and is a sound bloke to deal with (you'd be amazed how far rocking up to do a quote at the time you agreed will get you).
we can't put the house on the market in its current state, so it seems a wise investment either way.

• #17453
lots of people do this so yeah .. chislehurst is a go?
-
• #17454
5 - 6k sounds about right, if you're including woodwork.
I'd expect them do do a bloody good job though, and for them to make good after.

• #17455
short term lets
AirBnB?
-
• #17456
possibru.
we just need to get #wn4l ship shape and we'll start looking 4srs. we've been beating estate agents off with a shitty stick. some of their estimations are absurd. sadly not many houses on our road have been on the market of late so it's kinda hard to get a bead on what's a realistic price tag to slap on the current gaff, which in turn will give us a ballparky figure for kentistan.
-
• #17457
yeah we thought about that, but could get spenny after a month or so.
-
• #17458
yeah i managed to beat him down on the price so long as we agreed to him making a before / after video of his efforts for his website. he also committed to doing it all in under a week. and he's a local lad.
-
• #17459
You're going to pay him 6k+ for a week? Is he using 5 ppl and 1k worth of material? seems a lot, but then it always seems a lot and I just harden to it.
-
• #17460
I just harden to it.
yeah that costs extra.
he's bringing a team in and we're not skimping on the quality. the lounge alone is going to take 4 coats. it's currently a rather niche black.

I know a decorator seems to get plenty of repeat and recommended business.
Give him a call- Dan will pm number.
If you're moving I wouldn't throw a lot of money at it. -
• #17470
nice one chris.
i see it more as getting it done to a top spec so some chump will walk in and be less irked to fork over an extra 10 grand for our troubles.
