Beautifull Duell Solo for sale. The frameset is made out of Columbus SL tubing and build by master frame builder Jan van Dalen. These were one of the best bikes that money could buy in the 80's. Van Dalen also build frames for Presto in Amsterdam. I assume that this is one of the earlier frames that he produced (probably when he still was working at presto) since it has the square bridge between the chainstays. Beautiful lugged steel frameset with a lot of panto's and neat details like Jan van Dalen's signature in the BB shell.
I've bought it from the first owner, who bought the bike in the late 80's. It has some paint chips and touch ups but overall condition is ok. The toptube has a small dent which is almost not visible due to the handlebar that turned into the toptube. I have replaced the handlebar tape and the saddle. Besides of that I upgraded the tires for some more modern Continental Grand Prix one's. It is equipped with a complete shimano 600 groupset, except the crankset which is a Shimano 500 EX. Shifters have some wear but they are fully functional. Wheelset is has mixed hubs. Rear hub is a Campagnolo Chorus 8 speed, front hub Shimano Dura Ace, rims are regida DP 18 clinchers.
Pedals are not included in the sale. Perfect bike for everyday use!
