I have a dolan multi x (I know, 10% of your usual budget) but it ticks all the boxes and is kinda racey geometry. cantis/mini vs though but I havent caught up with the disc brake fad yet..

I'm really not too fussed about discs - had them on the CAAD10 and wasn't convinced by their feel, much prefer being able to dial in rim brakes to suit your desired modulation!
I'll have a look at the Dolan - @Pete4Eyes just mentioned it to me aswell actually - I was looking at the pinnacle Arkose aswell
I think a CX frame with Cantis would be my best bet
(Please don't mistake this to be in a similar vein to @amey's current tomfoolery 😂)

NS RAG comes in under a grand on trade if you've got a mate in a bike shop.

I have a Caadx frameset that I'm looking to offload soon. 56cm, canti (or v-brake) version.

Specialized Tricross is what you are looking for. if you can get the earlier models with the CF seat stays all the better.
I built this up from a Specialized Globe Expert, takes 42mm tyres WITH mudguards and you can fit 55mm tyres without so 29er wheel territory.

Perhaps a little vague title
Looking for something that can be very flexible over varied terrain and take a chunky set of tyres yet still pull/handle like a road bike.
I guess a Cyclocross frame, gravel frame, road frame with good clearance 'Gnarmac' frame etc
Really open to interpretation and to see if anyone has anything lying unused and unloved to pass on
Completely interpretative to condition aswell
Should be 54/56cm depending on geometry
Not looking to spend a fortune, but then I never am and end up with some stupid impulse purchases.....
I'm all ears!
