Mine arrived a few days ago. Top quality. You got a link to an allen key bolt that will fit? I dont actually own the right size torx. Had to borrow bolts from elsewhere to get them working

Get a Torx key :)
T30 is the size you want, it's a much better system than hex. If for some perverse reason you still want to use an Allen key, these screws will fit:

@mdcc_tester Thanks, received at the begining of the week, really pleased with the quality. I'd highly recommend these to anyone else, worth the wait.
@turkish I replaced my bolt with a Ti allen bolt for few gram saving show off weight weenie build. Bought from pro bolts, I think it was this one : https://www.pro-bolt.com/titanium-countersunk-bolt-m6-x-1-00mm-x-30mm-4.html
The head is slightly larger so it sits virtually flush in the cap instead of slightly countersunk which looks very neat in my opinion

If only there was a standard for countersunk screw heads :)
I've gone through three variations in the countersink size on the cap to get the current fit optimised with the Accu Torx screws, it's now 0.3mm below the top of the cap because being proud by any amount is a fail in my book. -

Ha, will edit my post on that note.
Still, pro bolt and integrated cap beat giants attempts at flush

Still waiting for mine, such excitement! They look neat as hell.

Still waiting for mine
Engraving is always the slow part of the process, but it's also the one where I can't believe they can be making money on what they charge me, so it would be churlish to complain :)

I'm sure for some things a torx might be needed, but headset caps are such low tension that the difference is minimal?
Main reason for wanting allen key is that I can use a multi tool on it when in the middle of nowhere. Admittedly any mechanical that requires messing with the headset cap is probably a walk home anyway, but makes me feel a bit safer. Also cheaper to but a bolt than to buy a whole new tool just for 2 of my headset caps

At least two people managed to round out the aluminium hex socket screws supplied with the first batch. I like to tighten my headset preload adjuster screw to 5Nm after tightening the stem clamp, that way I know it's never going to come loose and if the stem tries to walk up the steerer, it has that much more adjuster screw tension to overcome before it can even start. I haven't seen anybody else suggesting this, but it has been working for me for a decade and I've yet to hear a counterargument, so I design my parts accordingly. Of course, with decent quality tools, the hex socket aluminium screws will accept 5Nm without any trouble, but since I don't seem to be able to trust other people to use good tools and I don't want them coming crying to me when they break stuff, I had to pick a new screw and it made sense to use something which even the terminally ham-fisted would have trouble fucking up.
You can get black countersunk hex socket screws, but the only ones you'll be able to get in your local shop will be CrMo (probably Unbrako), and they suffer from cosmetic rusting if you so much as breathe on them. A T30 key should be about £1.50 from any fastener shop staffed by men in dun coats.

What's the best carbon bung to work with one of these? Would the £4 wiggle one do the job? They all seem much of a muchness, but maybe I'm missing something. I bought a head doctor but it doesn't fit in any of my bikes.

You aren't. As long as it has an M6 thread for the adjusting screw, it will work.

Too late to order another cap plus spacers?

If you want engraving, you probably need to tell me what you want and pay for it within the next 10 minutes, and only Type 1 or Type 2 if it's 1⅛". If you want a plain black one, I'll have some in a week or two after I've been to the anodiser with all the Type 2 engraved caps.

@mdcc_tester Just pm'd you

Received my 3rd and 4th stem top cap yesterday, something like my 10th headset cover and two packs of the spacers.
I cannot get enough of these bits, they're far superior in both quality and aesthetics to anything else available - and THANK GOD for a 1mm spacer AT LAST!!
Keep up the good work @mdcc_tester

Any idea when engraved ones will arrive?

Engraving is supposed to be finished this week, Type 2 then need to go to anodiser which is another week.

Excellent

Just to update everybody, the engraving is done, so if your order consisted of just Type1 and/or Type3, they will go in the post on Monday. Type2 are off to the anodiser on Monday, so they should go in the post on Friday. Type4 (laser etched) are not done yet, as that's a different man in the same shop and he's obviously busier than the the engraver.
