For future Hyper purchases, wiggle will price match Planet X

Fucking primadonna. Your tyre buying woes usurped mine you saucy cunt.
Queue jumping is one of the reasons we sent you buggers away in the first place... -

Have a look at those semi-slick things the TD racers use. Double-track massive in da house.
@gabes would probably have some good suggestions. -
• #4331
Look I tagged a dirt herder for you.
-
• #4332
I've ordered from both of them so it's no bother. I'd rather just get them than fuck about with price matching. It's not like £11 is going to bump me into Wiggle Platinum discounts :)

If it's flinty, don't use Schwalbe. I ride almost entirely flint around here in Devon and the only worthy tyres are Continental with ProTection or Maxxis with EXO casings.
For Tour Divide I used (and I also use around here) on my 29er Continental X-Kings, fast rolling, mostly grippy enough unless the mud is super squelchy. I think they do 26" too... don't forget ProTection sidewalls and tubeless...

Haha 'dirt herder', I like that.
Sadly the stock Troll wheelset is woefully narrow considering the clearance. Liz has no real use for a pair of 3" trailbosses but they'd look baller in there if it had 50mm rims. At least it means it flies along on 2.3" slicks which is what it needs most of the time.
Most of the semislickwithshoulderknob tyres cost/look roughly the same so will prob go for whatever the resident mtb lot recommend. Shame they're mostly 2.0" or less.

Thanks for the input @gabes, much appreciated. We'll be riding plenty of flint along the ridgeway as well as some bikepacking/trad climbing adventures we've got planned in Dorset and Devon.
I'm reluctant to go tubeless on these as it's Liz's main bike besides commuting and only got one wheelset for the foreseeable future so will be swapping tyres on the reg. No schwalbe is noted, am happy with my maxxis medusas for round Epping but suspect they're a bit clumpy so will look at their other offerings. I've never checked what casing I've got in the past so it's just opened up a new world.

It won't but it does avoid the shit show that is Planet X/the courier they use.
-
• #4337
I've not had issues with them yet. But I'm not exactly a frequent user of their services.

question is how badly does the rim coloring wear off

current vogue gumwall road tyres? been struggling since everywhere ran out of Evo CX, can't seem to find much that comes in a 23 and isn't shit or very pricey

Splash out on Spesh Turbo Cottons. The new Corsa G+ are alright but they seem to get cut to shit.
-
• #4341
I shredded my Corsa G+ to pieces yesterday riding gravel.
I am looking for a new pair of race tyres. I am have a pair of NIB Open Paves 25c but my new race wheelset is tubeless so wondering whether it is worth going down that route. I am struggling quite a bit with my current 650b WTB Horizons setup on my tourer, so not hundred percent sure it is worth going this route for my race bike. On the other hand I had tubeless on my cx bike without issues.
Any recommendations?Looking at http://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/road-bike-reviews/schwalbe-pro-one-tubeless-2016 I should be looking at Schwalbe Pro One or Corsa G+ again right?

If you like the feel of 'soft' tyres, Vittoria, veloflex or challenge.
Otherwise just get gp4ks and be done with it.
No race tyre stands up to gravel that well, but paves were much better than corsas. The new Michelin could be worth a punt, they were tough for a thin tyre when I used them last (pro3?) but always felt slow and not that grippy. Apparently the new ones are much better. -

Currently a reasonable deal in Wiggle, £28.49 if you buy in pair.

I thought the pro one tubeless were superb - much more supple feel that gp4000s, but they lasted maybe 1500km and were shot through. Guessing the G+ would be the same

Anyone interested in a pair of marathon supreme 32cc? Done maybe 5 miles...
They're just a bit tight on a Dolan Alpina winter fork - only a mm clearance on each side and rub when out the saddle (on wide rims, and it looks like the dish is a little off which isnt going to help)
Think i paid 60, so £50?

• #4346
Any super-fast rolling 32s available? No tubeless shite, proper tyres.
-
• #4347
Yeah, I could test them against the Hypers
Oh except they're £56 new so I'm not wanting to lose the warranty to save £6 if they self destruct after a month. Hmm
-
• #4348
Cool. Will pm you
I'm after some 28s now. Will just get gp4000sii if nothing else turn up
-
• #4349
Maybe the Hypers are skinnier? Depends on what you're looking for? GP4000 are a race tyre, thought Supreme designed much heavier for durability but still decent speed, say, audax rides.

Yep
I was trying to be sensible with the marathons. But given it hasn't worked out the lesson I've learned is don't be sensible. Maybe I'll get the gp4seasons. Have them on another bike and they're kind of ok.
I am sure @umop3pisdn will them off your hands
