Is it replacing an existing hob? Is he/she cutting the worktop out and fitting it or just doing the gas stuff? Have you checked on the gas safe website they are registered?

Thanks for your reply @sacredhart. Literally everything is set up already, worktop is cut out and brand new hob is sitting there ready to be connected. Gas mains supply is 2 metres to the right of the hob. Units are already installed but chippy says it should be an easy run.
Oh, by the way you gave me a free purple Ribble years ago. It's still my dad's primary runaround, he uses it almost every day. Thanks.

I need a plumber in Brighton area to run about 2 metres of gas pipe and fit a gas hob, and replace an electric shower like for like.
What should this cost? My plumber is quoting £250 just for installing gas hob which I thibk is a bit steep.
