so I won this without asking for serial number or BB shot.
Do people think this looks genuine Roberts?

Very soon going to have my early frame restored, I've heard there may be an issue with the decals - how best to source the most accurate Clarendon font - Geoff ?
Thanks, Rk.
N.B I have another early Roberts frame.

The first frame I bought off the forum was a Viscount track (stamped seat stays) and always optimistically thought it could have been ridden by Tony Doyle. It did have Roberts forks and the geometry was very similar.

Is it me or do the Chas fillet brazed frames have rather a lot of brass on? They sort of look like carbon fibre joins... Compared to some other builders from the same generation.
I think their lugged frames are way nicer.

Did the tandem picture make you think this? This is indeed generously filled... But I believe this might be just for that frame more than a general rule about Roberts... If someone could find @jaygee 's track or road bike to demonstrate... (I tried)

The longest project ever... Picked up the frame from Mario a year and a half ago, stayed un built for ages, finally put it back together hoping to ride it during the summer...

Hi guys, just wondering if you can give me some information. I posted this in the "how much is XYZ worth" thread but I've had no response. The post was as follows:
"A change of circumstance has prompted the possible sale of my freshly rebuilt Chad Roberts Lo Pro. No idea its value to be honest.
Frame is in fairly decent condition a few chips here and there so not perfect. From my research I'd take an amateur guess that the tubing is probably Columbus SL (Seat tube 27.2) but I'm open to be shot down. Some nice fillet brazing on it too.
Dura Ace hubs on Wolber rims (650 front), good condition Shimano 600 Tricolor throughout that i've just replaced the old set with, Campagnolo threaded headset. Only thing I haven't changed are the Shimano 600 brakes that were on it as the original bolts have seized (due to the condition I bought it in) and I haven't felt the need to remove them.
Cinelli Tempo bars and Cinelli stem.
Just want an idea of value to see whether this would trigger the need to sell it. Not really that keen to do so but sometimes we have to do what we don't want to do. Any help you have would be great.
Cheers"

Probably put risers on it for summer, then maybe respray pink in the future

Got this frame from @tomsvoboda couple of months back ,but finish wasn't to my liking, so I had it painted at Argos cycles , also had some cable eyes welded on front to stop cable rub

My Roughstuff lite, full Reynolds 853 custom tubing frame and stays, 531c forks. Frame number says its bike number 16 made in April 2005, had it over 10 years.. A bit heavy in the rear but rides very stable and smooth.

Came across some pics from maybe 7 years back - my dogsbolx at Everest base camp (shame that i didnt take the bottles off!), me with it somewhere between lhasa and katmandu, and the frame by itself. I sold it not long after the Tibet trip though as it was Robert's display bike rather than custom for me; it was a perfect size for road riding but just too small for off-road.
Still have an Audax though, which was built for me. I'm thinking of getting it repainted, so will post it up and ask for inspiration!

and my Audax.
Its maybe 8 years old, and been used for winter mileage, wet laps of regents park, commuting, light touring - everything where I didnt want the "summer" race bike or a the bolt-to-a-lamppost ss. The paint has a fair few scratches and chips so I'm thinking of a repaint.
Not sure on what though. Something more interesting than metallic black, but still will look ok when dirty and wet, and in another 8 years time. Maybe swap the fork for a straight carbon effort and go for a modern paint scheme. Cant decide.

^dibs! I'm in conversation with the seller... Will restore and start a CP... Any advice on a sensible/fair price given the condition? Calling on the Roberts hive mind and the usual suspects: @HillyBen @MCamb @GreatSince78 (still holding wheels for you) @Thrasher @anidel - what do you reckon? PM plz
Cheers,

Just thought I'd add my Roughstuff. This was taken on a cross Europe 3-week lightweight tour. 85/day average for 23 days and the bike didn't miss a beat.

ditto that!
Tony Doyle's Roberts Track looks pretty sweet. Them forks!! Neither can afford nor justify it in my life, sadly.
