Kinda felt like this sans-dog earlier. Misjudged an older bloke wandering into the road (regular road, and 15ft away from the actual pedestrian crossing). I didn't slow much as he walked across the road, as I timed to pass with over 6ft to spare... of course he stopped dead and took a step backward before turning around. Narrow miss and skid.
Bike rage has been significantly reduced recently, was more worried for the oldboy's safety than my own.
Lots of dog walkers are oblivious to the world around them, though. I notice this cruising at slower speeds on shared use paths. Still the odd dirty look from pavement hoggers though.
