Moser Leader AX Bugno 56 ctc - Frame only £150

  • I'm sellling my Leader AX as it is too big for me. It is in good overall condition but is screaming out for a respray. The paint has been touched up poorly in one area behind the headtube (not by me), and there are the usual age related chips and marks. The chromed rear stays however are in immaculate condition and lead down to a nice set of Campag drops.
It's made of Oria Mannesmann tubing and has an oval shaped profile to rival Columbus Max at the time.
The green colour is team matched Gatorade team, and Bugno won the Giro and World Championship in 1991 on one of these.

    Anyway here are the specs:
    56 TT - CTC
    57 ST - CTC
    65 ST - CTT
    15cm HT
    Italian threaded BB
    27.2 ST
    Oria Mannesman tubing
    Campagnolo drops
    Internal cable routing (TT)
130mm rear spacing (takes 11spd Shimano)

    £150 + postage and fees

  • Bargain! Buyer will not be disappointed.

  • potential dibs pm coming

  • Just to clarify, the sale is for the frame only. No seatpost, forks, headset etc..FRAME ONLY

  • Where are you

  • Paint looks in good conditions to me. Even with touch ups, I'd keep it as is.

  • top picture shows a modern seat post with what appears to be a conventional seat post clamp - does that mean the seat tube has been cut vertically since the photos showing the original quill type seat post?

  • from the pictures it looks intact.

They just put a seat post clamp high on the seat tube.

  • I came across a clamp that gripped the seatpost and the tube. I wanted to use an inline post and it worked really well. The ST is tight and held the post really well. I saw it on the Steel is Real FB group a while back.

  • ok cool, thanks

  • Don't suppose that you still have the original seatpost..?

  • I'm afraid not. Sold it a while back. I picked it up easily enough on eBay though. Was pretty spenny mind

  • PM'd

  • Don't suppose you have a link to where you brought the clamp?

  • It came as stock on a Fuji track classic. They both take 27.2 posts, but the tubing is thicker on the Fuji so the lip on the clamp gripped onto the post when on the Moser. It worked very well and meant i could do away with the bloody quill post.

  • Ah ok, thanks dude, I have been trying to make a quill seat post for my moser, using an old carbon inline post, but failing miserably, will have a look for this clamp.

  • @LeChef you got pm

  • Sold
