  • Why would I get a Wahoo, when three Garmin units and a phone will do?? :P

  • When are they available in the UK and how much?

  • £199, today

  • From where?

I'm sure I've seen people say they bought the original Elemnt for less than £200.

I think you should go for OG elemnt though.

  • Why? This new one is more aero :)

  • Show me the testing data...

  • Wind Tunnel Eyes™

  • i got mine for £183 through wiggle

  • Yeah, so I'm not paying £200 for the Bolt.

  • So I'd be 24 seconds faster if I didn't use a Wahoo at all? Bonus! Saved £200 too. :)

  • With usual discount, £150 seemed plausible.

Even at £199 RRP, it is pretty reasonable, a good alternative to the Edge Touring.

  • Yeah having read the dc rainmaker review thing I think the bolt would suit me better if I could get it for £150, although can you still use aftermarket garmin mounts with the little thing spun around, or do you need their special aero one?

  • AFAIK the Garmin mount is incompatible, however the Elment come with a brunch of mounts enough to tide you over.

  • Hmm, DCR's original Elemnt review suggested you could make it fit into a Garmin mount with either a specific technique or a bit of filing.

I've got a nice CNC garmin/gopro mount on a couple of my bikes so would prefer to retain those and spin the plastic thing in them 90deg to make a Bolt fit, rather than use their mount and have to attach the gopro elsewhere.

Not too bothered about the aeros.

  • I notice it said the Elemnt Bolt have an integrated mount, that sound nice.

Also the website said normal Elemnt is 17 hours, Bolt is 15.

Personally, the normal Elemnt is already a cracking GPS on it's own.

  • £50 cashback from wahoo as well as wiggle loyalty discount

  • Might get rid of my 520 and get "the Bolt" as a replacement, any pairing quirks with Garmins' ANT+ sensors I need to know about before taking the fall?

  • Anywhere in London got an Elemnt Bolt in stock that people know of? Wahoo site now says they're out of stock and not shipping any more until the 29th. Bespoke aren't planning on getting any and Cycle Surgery are yet to get them but expect them next month.

  • Am still on the edge 705. Which has great battery life but is as temperamental as a three year old coming down off a sugar high after drinking too much coke. Will follow this bolt with interest.

  • Just ordered the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt - delivery early April. Happy to post experiences once I've used it for a while

  • Wiggle have two in stock...

  • I need advice - I've decided to get either an elemnt or a bolt. I don't think I'm too bothered about which. I don't have anything that does maps at the moment, but imagine that a bigger screen would be better...

Obviously the price is a factor, as is availability.

Is it worth getting a brand new boxed elemnt off ebay for £200 or spending the extra £50 and getting it from wiggle or something?
