Are the drives presumably internal on your old Mac Pro?
How are they configured at the moment?
Are they reliable drives still? Do you have something else backing them up? If the drives are solid still get a thunderbolt raid for them to sit in and you'll kick yourself for not having done it earlier. Made such a difference to our workflow and storage. Only thing I don't like about it is booting it up every time you want to use it - not sure I trust even our GTech ev studio raid to be left on more than a working day at a time though I know you can get enterprise class drives which are designed for spinning their entire lifespan pretty much.
I need to migrate from my old MacPro desktop to a new 5K iMac. I have a couple of 2TB drives I use for video editing etc. What's my best bet - buy a couple of USB 3 drive chassis or combine them to make a mini RAID in a more expensive thunderbolt enclosure?
