  • Now with rando bag and front rack, and dynamo rear lighting. Have tweaked the saddle and bar position a touch too.

  • Did you route the rear dynamo internally? Got any closer pics of it?

How are you getting on with the strada bianca tyres?

No, everything is external - I couldn't be doing with the faff of internal cables or wiring. No pics either, sorry - but the wire is cable tied to the brake cable as far as the rear brake, then runs along the lower mudguard stay to the rear light. It looks pretty neat from the drive side...

I'm not. Way too tight a fit on the tubeless rims I'm using and too slippery in the wet for me. Swapped them for 32mm slick Panaracer Gravel Kings instead.

  • Good to know about the tires. Still hoping the GKs come in gumwall soon.

  • No gumwall, but they do have brown wall version

  • I want the slick version of that, if it exists. I'm assuming 'brownwall' is different?

  • The slick/file tread version have size up to 42c. Only brown wall version until now as far as I know.

  • Updated: now 1x10 (Microshift bar end lever, Zee rear mech, 11-36 cassette and 40T N/W ring), new bars, saddle, S/H Ultegra cranks and tubeless Gravel Kings.

  • And no front rack! Still a sweet bike though :-)

  • Thank you. I took it off because I was a bit worried about the weight of the bar bag being supported by just the mudguard eyelets on the fork, and the rack bending where the barbag mount was fitted. I still like the idea of a proper rando bag on there, but would need a fork with mid-blade eyelets and a rack with a stiffer vertical section, or proper decaleur. One day, maybe.

  • fit.

  • 43mm Gravel Kings fitted (just about - there's about 5mm each side at the chainstays with the dropouts all the way back) for a bit of off road action.

Needs a slightly longer chain because I can't shift onto the big cog with the current one

  • Went back to fixed, guards and dynamo on this a while back. Fitted TRP Hylex brakes last week:

  • Bloody gorgeous!

  • Thank you! Took it out to test the brakes this morning. About the same absolute power as BB7s but much nicer feel. Back needs bleeding from me fitting it but the front is fine.

  • Yeah this has been great in all iterations. Very nice!

  • Thanks! I’m sure it’ll change again soon...

  • A few changes since the last photo. Now 2x11, TRP Spyres, Gravel King SKs on Hope 29er wheels, flared drops, Eriksen post with a Flite and Thomson stem (that needs painting black).

  • That looks great, pity Brant doesn’t still do this.
