  • Mudflaps are great. Yesterday's ride had a lot more mud than I anticipated (a good surprise). Tires got covered in filth, every time I transitioned from mud to asphalt the bike became a scatter gun of mud, shooting all directions. A lot of fun. This morning I put the bike on the bath for cleaning (small flat life), this is the situation pre-cleaning:

    Drivetrain: clean

    Underside: clean

    Front fork: filthy

I didn't have a splash on me, feet included. Mudguard is Specialized "plug and play", with quite elegant hidden fittings, but extremely short on the rear. Results in a giant mudflap that can occasionally touch the tyre. In total I've got three flaps, one behind bottom bracket. Reflective panel is a bonus too.
