    Maybe - maybe people don't all realise Ebay protection is only Paypal protection.
    Same applies if you pay cash on collection - If you find a fault when you get item home then Ebay will not give you any help in getting your money back.
    I have got Paypal but happen to have some money in my French account so used that as the seller was in France.
    If anything I sold arrived damaged I would re-reimburse the buyer and claim from courier not tell buyer to claim from their country's post office.

    Exactly.

    Damage in transit is the responsibility of the whoever sends it: the contract is between them and the courier. The courier won't deal with the recipient.

    And yes I agree, problems such as you've had with the method of payment do need flagging-up and cannot be repeated too often: readers of the Bad Traders thread will know that too many people don't even know what a bad idea PayPal "gift" is.

    And considering the exchange rate, I entirely understand why you'd use your Euros.
