Here's a word of warning regarding Ebay buyer "protection":-
I just bought a Baschin , Daccordi made 700/600 lo pro ( because I don't have a 600 in my collection) from a piece of work in France BUT I had a little money left in my French bank account so I sent a cheque which cleared in good time and just received the bike - put in box with a couple of bits of card between wheels and frame and no support between rear drop outs. Frame very badly scratched - dropout slightly bent in.
Seller refuses to do anything because he says I should have unpacked in front of postman (can you see a postie waiting while you do that?) and says I must claim from post office -Unbelievable!!
Anyway here's the rub;- Ebay won't do anything if the payment wasn't thru Paypal or through one of their card channels. Thanks Ebay ! Item is marked as paid but Ebay won't lift a finger to help.
So always use Paypal or Card verified through Ebay payment channels.
Now I have to get onto my bank in France and possibly go through French legal channels (fortunately they are quite well legislated for this) but a lot of hassle because of a disreputable Ebay seller.
