  • And CTT wonder why noobs find it hard to get involved

It's easy to get involved if you join a club which actually runs TTs, in fact in our club it's a disciplinary offence not to get involved :)

  • Yes, that's a fair point. But to find out which local things are on, it can be difficult.
An interactive map with course locations on would a be a good way to spend money.

Then maybe a directory of clubs that promote club events.

Baby steps are needed. The CTT site doesn't even list the district web sites, and there is no consistency between districts on how they appear online, often relying on whoever draws the short straw. Not all clubs have handy lists of club events posted on their own web site, so a list of clubs which promote events would not generate a full list of events, whereas having CTT publish the event lists from every district would be a huge improvement which didn't rely on multiple amateur web sites to be kept up to date.

As part of what some people regard as a desirable reorganisation of CTT which diminishes the significance of districts, it would make sense for each district to have a section of the CTT site for district matters, rather than a completely separate web presence. Instead of going to lndc.org.uk, people could go to https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/londonnorth
