How tight should you do up rear wheel lucknuts on a track hub? I keep getting wheel slip but don't want to tighten it too tight for fear of compressing bearings or something? Is this a genuine concern or should I tighten as much as possible?
If you track nuts are affecting your bearing pre-load, there's something wrong with the design of your hubs. Notwithstanding that, the correct way to secure your wheel is with chain tugs. Take your pick from the dozens of shops and ebay sellers which sell this generic pattern
