This was my immediate thought on the advent of Castelli - Sky.
Castelli is just.... not.... quite... Rapha.Well, it's a different ball game from a style perspective, no denying it's highly functional, it's just not "Cool" in the same way.

castelli sells a lot more than rapha

Particularly at this time of year, it's rare to see Rapha around here ( N Yorkshire). Tonnes or castelli though. On yesterday's club run I think 5 out of 8 of us had gabbas.

Well aware of this - anything that's on the rails of every bike shop is undoubtedly going to sell a lot more.
I mean - I almost even bought some Castelli gear in Cycle Surgery the other day as the entire range was at 60% discount!
Agree as well @dglshrn when I lived in manchester there was always more Castelli out in the hills than Rapha, and admittedly even down here, the ratio of Rapha to non Rapha kit is stacked in the wider market's favour.
There was no question of sales statistics!

I'm not sure castelli will ever be 'aspirational' (?) in the way Rapha is but for club riders I know, it seems to be the go-to for function and some level of form. So in that sense it makes sense for sky. I'll be interested to see if people buy into it the same way they did with Rapha, I just can't see it happening.

Particularly not given the recent press around team sky...I assume some there are some rather angry execs in castelli currently!

Haven't seen any of that and can't find it on a google - intrigued - do you have a link?!
-

can't find it on a google
You sure about that?!

Thank you!
I had presumed, being a "stylish cycling kit" thread, the context of the news would be to do with clothing, such as 'Team Sky still wearing Rapha' kind of craic....
All that Jiffy bag full of crack cocaine nonsense has been circling for a while....

On the south coast its DHB more than rapha or Castelli.
-
• #3362
I like DHB but it's not stylish. Nor is Castelli. A plain black gabba is alright I suppose.
The point with Rapha is that it has straddled being stylish and very functional - as it should for the money.
I don't own any but I probably will when I'm back in the UK.

think you're all forgetting SKY kit was still everywhere when it was addidas

Any know of any discounts for La Passione at the moment please?
-
• #3365
Outside London Rapha isn't all that popular. It's considered a bit 'new money' by a lot of club riders. Castelli has heritage.

Does anyone know anything about club kit suppliers? We're currently with champion system but have the option to change in April. The only one that comes to mind is Milltag, but I don't know if they offer the selection of kit that champion system does.
We have about 50 members, so not a massive initial order.

He's just released the new line and they do a kit without VEGAN CYCLIST all over it... I much prefer the Vegan Athletic kit

Don't know Champion but the Milltag catalogue looks pretty extensive, at a glance there are 7 different SS jersey cuts to choose from. They'll also customise any of these, different zip lengths, sleeves etc.

Go with Milltag. They have brochure on website.
ChampSys is no longer good value for money.
Also their pads are total and utter dogshit.

Castelli sizing can

It's designed to fit cyclists, not MAMILs.

Castelli seems to fit me well, really like the bib tights I have from them. The knee warmers I have are absolutely shit though, just fall down constantly.

I have an original Das Rad Klub kit for sale, brought it in hopes I could fit into the small jersey, but alas, no dice. Too much beer and carbs for a small.

This was the original post.
Would like what I paid for it, £25 plus 5 postage

It's designed to fit tiny Italians.
Tough sell right now. Makes me wonder what the FKW MAMILS will be wearing this year.
