Well, I've learned something in the last hour, which is that I need better simulation software than is included in Fusion360. I saw some cool stuff a week or two ago which might have worked for the case of a component where the pre-stress is a critical part of the function (which would, as a separate matter, be brilliant for doing wire spoked wheel design)
tl;dr: I'm not able to predict exactly how the hanger will react to having been broken and then glued back together, but I wouldn't ride it like that.
