Sounds a bit dodgy. The clamping action is there to stop it tilting and affecting your headset preload when you apply the brake, and the completion of the hoop around the steerer stops the hanger from pulling forward and splaying under brake load. Show me the break and I'll run the FEA with it in the damaged condition and see what happens.
Nothing to do with your CP, but seeing as it concerns your handiwork for a Cervélo mounted Omega, this seemed as good a place to ask as any.
Rob's sent me one of the integrated bearing cover cable hangers you had made, but unfortunately he was having an off-day and tightened it too far, snapping one end.
I was going to use two-part Epoxy for the repair and thought that even with only modest torque through the screw, it will stay inline with the fork on account of the Ventus above.
Am I rite?
