I've got to organise a stag - London based...

Posted on
  • as per title, am organising a stag for late May.

Stag wants to keep it easy for anyone attending, hence it's just going to be an all day saturday in London.

Anyone got any great ideas on an activity of some sort, and somewhere to good to eat?? Around ten people.

    • Crystal Maze is sold out, so that's a no go.
    • A cliche but go-karting i've thought of as an option
    • Roof top Crazy Golf I'm also looking into.

For food - one idea is billy smokes at howling hops brewery - long benches, informal, it's not a rowdy bunch but wouldn't have to worry about keeping noise down etc.

Anyone been on any great stags in London or have any other ideas?

    Cheers for any thoughts..

  • I had my stag at Proud cabaret in Brighton, food is fantastic along with the entertainment. Have been to the one in Camden a couple of times as well which is equally great.
Bit cliched but good food and honest raunchy fun is always a winner.

  • Had a blast two years ago stayed pretty much in one area Farringdon/Clerkenwell with urban golf, plenty of pubs and topless bar all within an easy crawl, plus hotel to crash afterwards.

  • I organised one a couple of years ago in London.

We kicked off the morning with laser quest out at Bunker 51 in Greenwich, easy enough to get to from Victoria or Blackfriars.

For lunch we pre-ordered a load of burgers and sides from Meatmarket and had a picnic in Victoria Gardens on the embankment.

We then did a short pub crawl to Soho, consisting entirely of Wetherspoons establishments.

We had a cocktail class at Basement Sate and then karaoke at Lucky Voice.

We had paid a hefty deposit to finish the night in Bar Rumba, the bouncers turned us away though and we ended up having much more fun in the Comedy Store, our numbers had dropped to about eight by this point.

  • Check if you can reserve tables at Howling Hops as it gets very busy.

  • @edmundro cabaret!! Sounds like an interesting one. I'll look into it but that would never have crossed my mind.

  • yeah urban golf could be a good shout. there's some good pubs around there too. cheers for the reply

  • cheers too. Wetherspoons pub crawl - sounds like a winner.

Laser quest - always think its one of those things that seems like a better idea than it actually is, not been for years though. But Karaoke could be a decent shout..

  • You can walk into one of the bars in the Shard without booking i think and have an over priced drink with an amazing view. Much cheaper than paying for a ticket to the top. Might be a good place to start?

  • Day pass on the Thames clipper. Pub crawl down the river. They serve booze on board and they're happy for you to take on your own.

  • Music, boobies, cheesy magic, audience participation, drag queens, cocktails and food. Win.
We stayed for the club night afterwards as we ended up partying with a hen party til they chucked us out.

  • good shout. Actually did that fairly recently too to check it out.

  • ha, have you done this??

Cheers all, this is all helpful

  • This sounds a right barrel of laughs...

  • hit me with your best suggestion. There's a wide age group - i.e. dad and uncle coming along. Plus a couple of them are cops..

  • Plod? On a stag do?! Fuck me...

  • at least 2 of them. Including the main man.

  • i'm in London, a few coming in from essex way, the rest from nearby. shouldn't be too much of a trek for anyone. Bit of a random group though, a lot will only know the stag, I've not met most of them

  • GSIAD of all the police pubs in London.

    kthxbye

  • I used to work in one, the Yorkshire Grey on Theobalds Road, you can't chuck a brick in there without hitting Johnny Law.

  • If you like crystal maze, try any one of the escape rooms popping up everywhere...ten people = two teams for a bit of competitive fun
