• I put new metal pads in, loosened caliper, gripped brake and tightened caliper and the result is a fairly off-centre disc. It's like one of the pistons is moving more than the other. So I held the disc over to the moving side and the other side was definitely moving too, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I've now manually pushed the caliper over so the disc is more centered. It's gripping the disc though so basically already braking without touching the levers. There must be some trick I'm missing...

    You got a sticky piston, not uncommon, but does explain why you're experiencing all this.

  • Remove pads and push the piston out GENTLY, cos you don't wanna pop them. Then clean the outer of the piston with rubbing alcohol. Push the piston back, then out and clean again. You should see improvements after the first couple of times.
