Bummer... the 10 runs a couple of miles from my house, and a hundred meters from my office so I was going to come out and watch, but I just looked at dates and sadly I've got a different race on that day.

According to Slane Cycles, the 2010 P3C already has holes in the top tube for cables (under a sticker), ie no need to get the drill out: is this correct?
-

Highly doubt it, my 2012 P3 had no TT holes.

On the subject of P3's, there's a shabby looking 54cm P3C on eBay currently at £824 with 10mins left. What am I missing here?...

It has tape on the seatpost so almost certainly owned by a triathlete which means all the bolts on it will be over or under-tightened and it's probably been crashed a few times - probably into bridges while attached to the roof of an Audi.

Ha, the user is "ironman" something.. nailed it :)

It's going for a higher price than would have been the case before everybody starting hunting for classic geometry Cervelos in order to get 3cm legal. I would have guessed at £600-£700 being typical for a frame and fork a year ago.

What's the rush on 3cm legal now? Do they measure you before races or something?

They're threatening to take it seriously, although nobody knows how often, how seriously, or how they're going to check. Nonetheless, since it is an amateur sport, all gentlemen will voluntarily comply with the regulations at all times to avoid creating work for our volunteer organisers.

Is there a relatively easy way to search CTT events that have a separate road bike category?
-
• #14820
All CTT events have a road bike category, its the same category as everyone else* enters or are you hoping to win stuff by turning up on a road bike?
- well apart from tandems and trikes in most races and occasionally women!

No. Most events which have multiple category classifications are all bundled up into one event. You need to obtain the prospectus from the event secretary, which will list all the prizes on offer. This is obviously a massive PITA since very few of them pro-actively publish anything like a prospectus. When you have been doing TTs for 30 years or so, you'll have gained a fair knowledge of which event secretaries are even worth asking about such things :)

It's probably more accurate to say that all CTT events can be contested on a road bike, as long as it has the right number of wheels and seats, and the rider(s) have the right gender classification under Reg10.

Xav's spreadsheets lists some events as road bike only or no aero kit. That's the quickest way.

Finally got round to fitting the NOS Profile forks and Chinese carbon base bar. Almost looks legit.

Well good that
34mph please.
32mph is 25 speed.
30mph would be a nice 100 speed!
I wish.
